I am a Professor of Mathematics at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, where I am also currently serving as the Director of Faculty Development.

I am originally from New Zealand, where I was a student at the University of Waikato (1992-1994) and the University of Auckland (1995). I have a B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Auckland and I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Ph.D.  in Mathematics in 2001. After graduate school, I was a Whyburn Research Instructor (post-doc) at the University of Virginia (2001-2004) and I was hired at Allegheny in 2004.

My research interests are in the area of complex analysis or, more specifically, operator-theoretic function theory. In particular, I study canonical divisors on weighted Bergman spaces.

In the last few years, I have been transforming my courses, incorporating both inquiry-based learning and alternative grading.
